Games Design Unit 5/70/71 Creating a Game

Creating My Game
I have completed my game in which I added zombies, AI and player combat.
If you would like to download it, here is a link to download the project files if you wish to take a closer look at it.
Video Playthrough

This is a video walkthrough of my game, from start to finish.

My Use of Blueprints

This video is showing my blueprints, what they do and how they work.

How My Game Matches The Brief
My game matches the brief in many different ways. My game has three areas which is what the brief also has, my areas consist of a large open wooded area, a small old house and a large cave. There is a lot of grass and trees, there is also a small amount of water outside although it may be hard to see as the game is a bit dark. My house has props in it and other things you can find however there aren't any things you can really pick up. My cave is rather big but simple, it has a few lights so it isn't pitch black and there are a few enemies along with a boss which doesn't seem to be shown in the brief, so I have done a few extra things in my game which are not in the brief, for example I also have wooden boxes that you must push out of the way to get into the house, also the way into the cave is rather hidden, there are lights, blood and a few props around my level also. Along with a few easter eggs hidden around.

What I Could Improve
There are a lot of things I wish I could have done to improve my game however my limited knowledge of the Unreal Engine did not help with that, also a lot of the tutorials for things were outdated and did not work. However the things I could have done to improve my game are to first of all get the zombies working properly as I could not figure out how to make them ragdoll when they are hit. I could have also added a main menu, I tried to however it did not work properly, Another thing I could have added is a level end/exit so that the game could properly end, a longer map with more enemies would have also been a big improvement. Another thing I could have done would be to include high resolution textures with reflective surfaces and added effects to the game such as light shafts or post processing. Obviously there are many other things I could have put into my game which every other game has. Different controls such as rolling or crouching would have been good. Item pickups and different weapons are a big thing which would have made it more fun to play. A real storyline with cutscenes would make it look more professional. I could have added an end credits sequence as well.
