Out of these games, Silent Hill 2 probably has the best and most unique storyline as it is made very well and much thought put into it as the psychological horror really adds to the experience.
Another game in this list which has a good storyline would probably be The Curse of Monkey Island as it has a lot of good comedy along with some romance in there as Guybrush must save the love of his life from the evil zombie pirate Lechuck.
Some examples of games that do not have stories are Minecraft, Quake 3, Terraria and The Sims. There fore is it possible for a game to not have a storyline. A lot of different kinds of people play games without storylines as they are usually easy to pick up and play whenever, allowing for hours upon hours of gameplay.
